Tierpoort Seniors dressed in red and celebrated the month of love on 7 February.

Aisa de Wet and Karina van Niekerk hosted the event at Betshan, on Nkwe Road, Tierpoort. The 60 participants were welcomed with refreshing red berry drinks and the tables were decorated with hearts, red flowers and serviettes.

Eagerness to gain one more point

Theresa Joubert and Yvette Botha were in charge of the lyrics competitions among the tables: Guess the name of the love song played for each table; finish the sentence by singing the words to follow; mime a song; choose a number of notes and guess the song; and choose a theme and name the singer.

The menu consisted of lasagne, bread rolls and a salad, prepared by the committee and donated by Willie van Rooyen and the OK Foods team. Jutta Schmidt, one of the German Seniors, baked traditional German sugar cones, named ‘Ostfriesische Neujahrskuchen’, filled with ice cream.

The committee would like to invite any senior in the Tierpoort vicinity to join the group where laughter, joy and sorrow are shared.
