The Tierpoort Seniors celebrated the month of love on 5 February with a Valentine’s luncheon prepared by the committee.

Rolling Waters in Nkwe Road, with its dams and romantic black swans, suited the occasion perfectly. Owner Danie Crous and chef Andrew generously welcomed the seniors. Red berry ice tea was served on the tables, and the venue was beautifully decorated with red roses and chandeliers.

The Seniors, dressed up in red, had the chance to decorate printed Valentine’s cards or bookmarks. This was followed by Theresa Joubert’s presentation: “Different ways to communicate love”. The guests eagerly participated in the discussion.

Sharing joy and laughter

The menu planned for this hot, humid February day consisted of a cold pasta tuna dish accompanied by a scrumptious red and green salad, followed by a strawberry cheesecake desert in tiny glass bottles.

The Seniors kicked off the year with 72 attendees at the event. After many years of being the Seniors’ committee leader, Linda Meintjies is taking a break. Jouline Botha is taking over the reigns, with the rest of the committee as support.
