Ons het vroeër vanjaar berig dat Jacques se vriendin, die 19-jarige Naleen Tiquin, dood is in dié ongeluk. Jacques se ma, Wilma, sê dat hy uiteindelik permanent by die huis is. Sy sal op ‘n later stadium vertel hoe sy genesing vorder, want soveel mense het hulle ná die berig in Die Bronberger gebel om te hoor hoe dit gaan. Selfs van hulle bure het die eerste keer oor die ongeluk in Die Bronberger gelees; mense wat by toneel verby gery het wat nie die voertuig herken het nie.

Ons hoor dat Stiaan Nieuwoudt en Yolandi Nel volgende jaar op 28 April in Parys, Vrystaat, gaan trou. Ons het verlede maand berig oor hulle verlowing by Wet Nose en watter rol Grits, die hawelose drie-been hond, in die verlowing gespeel het. Danksy die verloofring om sy nek, het dié bejaarde hondjie verseker dat sy twee gunsteling mense trou aan mekaar sweer sodat hulle vir hom ‘n huis kan bied. Stiaan se ma, Nelia, sê dat hulle hele gesin almal so gek is oor diere.

The Shere-based tea garden, Madame Rose & Monsieur Luke, had to close its doors due to legislative problems. The last tea garden business day was on 26 November. Ina and Leandri said that during 17 months they: served 1 475 tables, celebrated 67 birthdays, spoiled 34 brides-to-be, hosted 14 French high tea’s and anticipated the arrival of 42 new babies. “For everyone who supported us, enabling us to make our dream a reality, many heartfelt thank-you’s! Where to next, we are still a bit unsure of, but it will be onto bigger and better things,” they said.
