‘We purchased our farm at Klipkop in about 1989 and ‘David’s store’ was our local grocery store. Most of the large commercial stores were miles away.

He was housed originally at the Jan Ellis centre, where Alzu is now the owner [on the corner of the R515 and the Old Bronkhorstspruit Road] and was the only grocery and veggie store in the greater area for decades.

Maybe you could interview him. I’m sure he has many stories to tell.
