Tierpoort seniors were welcomed by Foresters on a chilly autumn day in May to celebrate the Netherlands in the continuation of their journey around the world.

The venue, with its views of sweeping lawns and shady trees, was bubbling with friends chatting and laughing while listening to the romantic music of Andre Rieu, ‘The king of waltz. A menu of a hearty ‘ertwensoep’, freshly baked bread and sweet ‘vlaflip’ enabled guests to experience Dutch culture.

Prize winner, Dries de Klerk

Dries de Klerk won a special spot-prize, a paint-by-numbers painting by Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer, which will be ideal for those cozy winter days indoors.
