Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre is moving from its Zwavelpoort premises. The centre will relocate to its own permanent premises closer to Rayton at the end of February.

These premises will be only 11 km further along the N4 highway and signposts will soon be erected. The move places Wet Nose in the centre of its expanded area. It now covers the magisterial district right up to Groblersdal, while still covering its usual Pretoria areas.

Wet Nose?s Zwavelpoort premises will be closing to the public on 21 February to start the big move. It will be operational again on Saturday 1 March at the new remises. Staff will still assist with emergencies during this period.

It has taken Wet Nose eight years to make the dream of owning its own premises a reality. The new kennels will have separate sleeping quarters to protect animals from the rain. There will be a separate rehabilitation section which will be named ?The Cabanas? as well as a mother-and-baby nursery section. Outdoor catteries will be erected and the centre?s future plan involves a complete outdoor arena under shady trees.

All the animals will be moved out of the old premises on Friday 22 February. Volunteers are needed to help with the move and to help paint out the kennels on the weekend of 23 and 24 February. Help is also needed to dissemble and re-erect Wendy houses, fencing for enclosures, palisade runs and roofs.

For a detailed list of Wet Nose?s needs, or directions to the new premises contact Fiona or Andrew at 012-809-2106 or 012-809-2785. Phones have not yet been installed at the new premises, but an answering system will run on the old numbers for three months. You can also contact Wet Nose at 082-431-1333 or 082-498- 7740.
