The newly elected Tierpoort Community Committee held a get-to-know-your-neighbour event on 27 February. Residents were invited to participate in an open day where they could have a stall to show other people what they do.

The open day was held at Thulani on plot 105 on the Tierpoort Road. There was an abundance of talent on display, ranging from goat’s cheese from La Vita, cow’s milk cheese, eggs and preserves from ‘Plot to Plate’, traditional baked goods from Leon and Paula Sassenburg and gourmet burgers from BFF Banting Friendly Foods to vetkoek and pancakes from Sarel and Lettie van Tonder, Be Wise Sterilise with their sterilisation project of cats, and Gitte Theron with her pottery.

Also represented were Pathways Residence, Dr William Ndebele from Tierpoort Veterinary Services, Seniors Fun Events, The Care Group, and Carla Kloes and Juanita Kruger from the local beekeeping community. Of great interest was Andre Prins with his snakes and advice. The live music by Werner Louw added to the atmosphere.
