Raffle tickets sold at Rainer Kohl’s 50th anniversary art exhibition in The Willows raised R1 500 for the Sunflower Fund. These funds were handed to Sunflower’s Shelby Zimmerman, who did the art raffle draw on 1 December.

The lucky winner is Angelique Geeringh, who will receive Rainer’s painting, ‘African Dreams 2’.
The Sunflower Fund is a national non-profit company dedicated to creating awareness, educating the public and handling the registration process for people to join the South African Bone Marrow Registry. The fund pays the test cost of people joining the registry.

Increasing the number of donors listed on the national database offers hope to children and adults diagnosed with leukaemia and other life-threatening blood disorders. Higher numbers on the registry increase their chance of finding matching bone marrow stem cell donors.
