The Pretoria Shepherd Dog Club celebrated its 52nd year with a walk on Saturday 10 October. The walk raised funds for the South African Veterinary Association’s Community Veterinary Clinics (SAVA-CVC).

Club members and dog enthusiasts from around Pretoria took part in the walk, which started at the club’s grounds in Menlo Park. The route was mapped by the chairman of the Friends of the Waterkloof and Wolwespruit, Paul Lastrucci.

The club donated R2 650 plus dog food and blankets to SAVA CVC. This organisation’s
main activity is to give primary veterinary health care in disadvantaged areas. They treat 25 000 animals a year and their aims are to stop rabies and infectious diseases, control pet populations through sterilisation, and provide information to pet owners from poor communities.
