The Boschkop Community Policing Forum (CPF) tiled the showers at the Boschkop Police Station prison cells. The CPF took on the task as their 67 minute project on Nelson Mandela Day, although the tiling took more than three days to finish.

The material was sponsored by Martin Vlok of Stocks Flooring and Petrus, a well-known builder in the area, did the tiling. Sergeant Matlala kept a close eye on the project and the financial sponsors for the labour were Deon van Rensburg and Wouter Badenhorst.

Wouter is the newly elected chairman of the Boschkop CPF. The new members of the executive council are: R Welsh, deputy chairman; J Marotho, Lethabong patrol co-ordinator; G Marais, treasurer; J Hlatswayo, Lethabong deputy patrol co-ordinator; S Malaza, Lethabong youth desk; Deon Van Rensburg, secretary and projects manager; and W Kossen, public relations officer.

The CPF is a forum with the purpose of promoting transparency and accountability between the police and community.

There are various ways in which the community can assist the police, especially to ensure that all incidents are reported, even fence cutting and trespassing. These statistics drive the resource allocation by the government.
