Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre’s annual Homeless Animals Day is on 29 August. The centre celebrates this day with a special program, which starts at 8.30 am and includes a 1,7 km two-by-four (human and dog) walk.

You can walk one of the homeless animals or take your own well-socialised dog with.

There will be a dog show (agility) by Wet Nose dogs, as well as rehabilitation, long-standing and survivor awards. Wit Kasteel and DJ TTT will look after the live entertainment, while you browse through flea market stalls and visit the food and beer tents. There is also going to be a fun park for children with adult supervision.

This year you can take part in a teambuilding potjiekos competition that starts at 8.30 am at a cost of R200 per team.

All funds raised will go towards the day-to-day functioning of Wet Nose Animal Rescue Centre. The centre does not receive any government or municipal funding, but depend solely on the generosity of the public and support from companies.

Wet Nose is a “Right to Life” organisation, which means that it doesn’t put animals down after a certain period. Every one of their 500 animals stays until a loving home can be found for them.
