The u16 rugby team of the Monaco Union visited Cullinan on 24 July. Their visit was made possible by South Africa Rugby Legends (SARLA) and the Princess Charlene of Monaco Foundation.

The foundation announced its collaboration with the Legends in its sport and education project and a South Africa-Monaco rugby exchange programme on 19 February at a cocktail party to celebrate the birth of crown prince Jacques and princess Gabriella.

Prince Albert married former South African swimmer Charlene Wittstock on 1 July 2011. The twins, Gabriella Thérèse Marie, Countess of Carladès and Jacques Honoré Rainier, Hereditary Prince of Monaco, were born on 10 December 2014.

As part of the South Africa-Monaco rugby exchange programme, underprivileged South African children, who were chosen based on their athletic achievements, took part in the Saint Devote Rugby Tournament in Monaco in April.

The Monegasque team visited South Africa in July. In addition to participating in the rugby tournament, the children from both nations take part in academic and social activities to broaden their understanding of different cultures and lifestyles.
