Do you know of any places in our area that could be deemed a national or provincial heritage site? The Provincial Heritage Resources Authority of Gauteng (PHRAG) has announced that nominations for declared sites are now open.

The PHRAG committee said it has realised that there may be rich heritage in our area and they approached conservancies to bring such sites to the attention of the declarations committee.

According to the National Heritage Resource Act any person may submit nominations to the South African Heritage Resources Agency (SAHRA) for a place to be declared a national heritage site, or to the provincial heritage resources authority for a place to be declared a provincial heritage site. People are encouraged to do so.
